Yeah, you read correct! The PS4 was released on Friday in North America via Canada and the U.S. and sales of Sony's brand new console hit 1, 000, 000 units! Here's what The Hollywood Reporter had to say:
One million units of the PS4 were sold during the first day it became available in North America, Sony announced on Sunday.
The PS3, by comparison, had received a more limited launch in the U.S. in 2006 and received initially unfavorable press as it went head-to-head with the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii during that holiday season.

"Sales remain very strong in North America, and we expect continued enthusiasm as we launch the PlayStation 4 in Europe and Latin America on November 29," said Sony Computer Entertainment's president and group CEO Andrew House in a statement touting the PS4 sales figure. "We are extremely grateful for the passion of PlayStation fans and thank them for their continued support."
Sony says that 30 games will be available for the console, priced at $399 at launch, by the end of 2013.
The company has stated that it expects 5 million units of the PS4 to be sold in North America by March 2014,
If the America's buying habits are anything to go by then it definitely seems as though Sony's new PS4 console is well on the way to becoming the hit everyone's hoping it to.

Classic Home Video Games, 1985-1988: A Complete Reference Guide By Brett Weiss, Foreword by Bill Kunkel

2009 | 287 Pages | English | PDF | 4 MB

A follow up to 2007's Classic Home Video Games, 1972-1984, this reference work provides detailed descriptions and reviews of every U.S.-released game for the Nintendo NES, the Atari 7800, and the Sega Master System, all of which are considered among the most popular video game systems ever produced. Organized alphabetically by console brand, each chapter includes a description of the game system followed by substantive entries for every game released for that console. Video game entries include publisher/developer data, release year, gameplay information, and, typically, the author's critique. A glossary provides a helpful guide to the classic video game genres and terms referenced throughout the work, and a preface provides a comparison between the modern gaming industry and the industry of the late 1980s.
